By the late seventies, the company expanded its range of travel services to include handling of air ticket reservations. | 1999 | - | Following the reorganization of Tan Chong Motor Holdings in 1999, Warisan TC Holdings Bhd (WTCH), a company listed in the main board of Bursa Malaysia, was established to take over the former’s non-motor businesses, which among others, include Mayflower Acme Tours. As a consequence to the reorganization exercise, Mayflower became a wholly-owned subsidiary of WTCH and has a paid-up capital of RM2.4 million and an authorized capital of RM3 million. |
| August 2000 | - | In August 2000, WTCH entered into a joint venture (JV) with American Express to form Mayflower American Express Travel Services focusing on corporate travel. The JV Company started operations in 2001 and became a success registering double digits growth year-on-year for the next six consecutive years and secured the top agent position in Malaysia for the same period. Recognizing the success of the JV business model, American Express today adopted it as a benchmark for other new JV set up in China and the Philippines. |
